Community Guidelines

Last Updated: April 19, 2026

Overview

Dobro is built on the belief that sports bring people together. Whether you're organizing a pickup game, discovering a new facility, or connecting with fellow athletes through a Circle, every interaction on Dobro should feel welcoming, fair, and safe.

These Community Guidelines apply to all users, all content, and all spaces on the Dobro platform — including sessions, Circles, profiles, comments, chat, and any other feature. They exist alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

The Dobro Standard

Be the kind of player, host, and community member you'd want to share a court or field with. Treat every athlete — regardless of skill level, background, or identity — with the same respect you expect in return.

Respect & Inclusion

Dobro is an inclusive space for athletes of all backgrounds, skill levels, and identities. Discrimination, harassment, and hate have no place here.

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Hate speech: Content or language that dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Harassment: Targeted abuse, repeated unwanted contact, threats, or intimidation directed at any individual or group.
  • Discrimination: Excluding or mistreating players in sessions or Circles based on identity rather than skill or availability.
  • Bullying: Using the platform — including comments, chat, or session ratings — to demean, embarrass, or isolate other users.
  • Sexual harassment: Unwanted sexual advances, explicit content directed at users, or any form of sexual coercion.

We encourage users to celebrate diversity and use Dobro as a bridge between athletes who may never have played together otherwise. Beginners are welcome. New sports are welcome. Everyone belongs on the court.

Safe Play

Physical safety is a shared responsibility. When organizing or participating in sessions through Dobro, all users are expected to prioritize the well-being of themselves and others.

Session Hosts are responsible for:

  • Accurately describing the session's skill level, intensity, and any physical requirements
  • Choosing venues that are reasonably safe and appropriate for the activity
  • Communicating rules, expectations, and any known hazards to participants before play begins
  • Respecting facility rules and local regulations

All participants are expected to:

  • Play within the spirit of the game — aggressive or dangerous play intended to injure others is prohibited
  • Respect the physical limits of other players, including those who are beginners or less experienced
  • Refrain from participating while under the influence of alcohol or substances that impair judgment or physical ability
  • Report unsafe conditions at a venue so others can be warned

Emergency Situations

If there is an emergency during a session, always call 911 or local emergency services first. You can report the incident to Dobro at safety@dobro.com afterward for platform follow-up.

Circles & Communities

Circles are the heart of Dobro's community layer — spaces for athletes to organize, communicate, and build lasting connections around shared interests. Circle leaders take on additional responsibility for the health of their community.

When creating or managing a Circle, you agree to:

  • Set a clear and honest purpose. Your Circle's title, description, and settings must accurately represent its intent. Misleading or deceptive descriptions are not allowed.
  • Moderate your community. Circle leaders are responsible for ensuring their members follow these guidelines. Allowing or encouraging violations within your Circle is itself a violation.
  • Keep it sports-focused. Circles must be related to athletic activities, sports communities, or related interests. Using Circles for unrelated commercial solicitation, political organizing, or off-topic purposes is prohibited.
  • Respect member privacy. Do not share members' personal information outside the Circle without their consent.

Circles that violate these guidelines may be:

  • Suspended (temporarily blocked from activity)
  • Archived (locked and made inaccessible)
  • Permanently removed from the platform

Repeated violations by a Circle leader may result in their account being suspended or permanently banned.

Content Standards

All content shared on Dobro — including photos, videos, comments, bios, session descriptions, and Circle posts — must meet these standards.

You may not post content that:

  • Is sexually explicit — nudity, pornography, or graphic sexual content of any kind
  • Promotes or glorifies violence — real-world threats, gore, or celebration of harm
  • Spreads misinformation — false claims about health, safety, events, or other users that could cause harm
  • Infringes on copyright — music, video clips, or images you do not own or have permission to share
  • Is spam — repetitive posts, unsolicited promotions, pyramid schemes, or automated bot activity
  • Reveals private information — sharing someone else's personal details (address, phone number, etc.) without their consent (doxxing)
  • Impersonates others — pretending to be another athlete, public figure, or Dobro staff member

Highlight & Video Content:

Videos uploaded to Dobro should feature athletic content. When recording or sharing session highlights, ensure that you have appropriate consent from other participants and comply with all applicable recording laws in your jurisdiction.

Facility & Venue Conduct

Dobro connects athletes with real-world venues. How you behave at those venues reflects on the entire Dobro community and affects our ability to maintain partnerships with those facilities.

  • Follow facility rules. Each venue has its own policies regarding reservations, equipment, guests, noise, and hours of operation. You are responsible for knowing and following them.
  • Leave venues as you found them. Clean up after sessions, return equipment, and report any damage to the facility.
  • Do not misrepresent sessions. Sessions posted on Dobro should accurately reflect your intended use of the venue. Using a session listing as cover for unauthorized activities is prohibited.
  • Respect other users of the facility. Other patrons who are not part of your session deserve courtesy and space.

Venues can report disruptive users to Dobro, and those reports will be taken seriously. Repeated reports may result in account restrictions.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it. Every report is reviewed by our Trust & Safety team.

How to report:

  • Use the Report button available on profiles, sessions, Circles, and content throughout the platform
  • Email our Trust & Safety team at safety@dobro.com for urgent or complex situations
  • For legal matters, contact legal@dobro.com

Good-Faith Reporting

Reports should be made in good faith based on a genuine concern. Misusing the reporting system to target or harass other users is itself a violation of these guidelines.

Enforcement

Dobro uses a combination of community reports, automated detection, and human review to enforce these guidelines. We aim to be consistent and fair, but we reserve the right to act at our sole discretion when the safety or integrity of the platform is at risk.

Possible enforcement actions include:

  • Warning: A notice informing you that your behavior or content violated the guidelines, with a request to correct it.
  • Content removal: Specific posts, sessions, Circles, or other content may be removed without notice.
  • Temporary suspension: Your account or Circle may be temporarily restricted from certain actions or made inaccessible.
  • Permanent ban: Severe or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the platform with no right of reinstatement.

Appeals:

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing appeals@dobro.com within 30 days of the action. Include your account information and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect. We will review all appeals, though we cannot guarantee reversal.

Dobro reserves the right to update these guidelines at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current version of these guidelines.
