HOW IT WORKS

Dobro sessions turn pickup sports from chaos into structured, trackable competition — without the overhead of a league.

What is a session?

A session is a structured game or run at a verified facility. A host creates it, players join, the game happens, and results are permanently recorded. No group chats, no confusion, no "who showed up?"

Scheduled or instant

Set a start time in advance, or go live right now. Either way, players see it in real time.

Roster-controlled

The host decides who plays. Players request to join. No more 'whoever shows up' energy.

Verified venues only

Sessions happen at facilities Dobro has verified. No random addresses, no mystery gyms.

Session lifecycle

Every session moves through defined states. Nothing gets lost, skipped, or forgotten.

1
Draft / Scheduled

Session is created

The host picks a facility, sport, visibility (public or invite-only), and optionally a start time. Players can see it and request to join.

2
Warmup

Warmup stream goes live

The host can start streaming before tip-off. Spectators tune in early. Players check in. The broadcast is live but the game clock hasn't started.

3
Live / In Progress

Game is on

The session is active. If streaming, spectators watch live. Scores are tracked in real time. The 'Got Next' queue is visible to everyone.

4
Finalized

Results recorded

The host closes the session. Final scores, participant stats, and highlight clips are permanently saved to every player's profile.

Got Next

The queue that ends sideline arguments

In pickup sports, "got next" is the most contested two words on any court. Dobro makes the queue transparent — who's up, who's waiting, and in what order. Everyone sees it. No one debates it.

  • Players request to join the queue before the session ends
  • Host sees pending players and accepts in order
  • Queue is visible to spectators — no more running to the sideline
  • When a team loses, next team in the queue steps in automatically

Roles in a session

Everyone has a defined role. No ambiguity about who's responsible for what.

Host

Creates the session, controls the roster, manages the queue, runs the scoreboard, and decides when to go live and when to close.

Player

Joins the session, competes, and gets their stats and highlights automatically tracked to their profile.

Referee (optional)

Assigned by the host for neutral officiating. Refs can log fouls and confirm scoring disputes.

Spectator

Watches the live stream, follows the score, and sees the queue. No account required to watch.

Results and highlights

When a session ends, the work is done automatically. Every game leaves a permanent record.

Live scoreboard

Scores update in real time during the session. Visible to players, spectators, and anyone following the stream.

Final results on every profile

Win/loss, points, and performance stats are saved to each player's profile. Your record builds over time.

Highlight clips voted live

During a live session, viewers vote on the best moments. Top clips get submitted to the highlights reel automatically.

Session history always accessible

Every session you've played in is in your history. You can always go back and see scores, who played, and how it ended.
