About this game

Roller hockey (inline hockey) is played on a hard surface with inline skates, using sticks and a puck or ball, following rules similar to ice hockey.

14 skaters + 1 goalie per team on inline skates; no icing rule (no blue lines in most formats)
2No checking into the boards in most recreational leagues
3Penalties result in penalty time, often 2 minutes; team plays shorthanded
4Puck or ball (varies by league) used to score goals; goal counts when it fully crosses the goal line
5Games typically consist of two halves or three periods depending on the league format
