About this game

BMX freestyle's head-to-head challenge game is called BIKE — the same concept as basketball's HORSE but on two wheels. One rider sets a trick; the opponent must match it or earn a letter. First to spell B-I-K-E loses.

The objective

Force your opponent to spell B-I-K-E by setting tricks they cannot replicate on their BMX.

Rules as played today

1The challenging rider performs a trick on their BMX; the opponent must attempt the exact same trick
2If the opponent successfully replicates the trick, no letter is awarded; trick-setting can switch
3If the opponent bails or cannot land the trick, they earn the next letter of BIKE — starting with B, then I, K, E
4Any agreed-upon trick is valid — from flatland combos to park lines to street moves
5First rider to spell B-I-K-E (accumulate 4 failed tricks) loses the game
6Game ON tracks each trick set, trick landed, and letter earned so spectators can follow the BIKE score live
